Drivers Pulled Over to Lend a Hand to an Abused Horse

There were heavy traffic jams in Haifa today, after an exhausted, wounded horse fell down on the sidewalk by the city hall. Eyewitnesses: two boys abused it and left it there.
A horse was found today, bleeding and exhausted on the road in Haifa. This shocking event, which occurred at approximately 12:30 PM, caused heavy traffic jams in the area. Eyewitnesses told the police and the inspectors who arrived at the scene that they had seen two boys abusing the horse; they then left it there and ran away.
Passersby suddenly saw in front of their eyes a horse walking on the sidewalk on Bialik Street, near the Haifa city hall, not far from the northern headquarters military court building. The horse, who was bleeding and whose legs looked wounded, collapsed suddenly in the middle of the road, close to the pedestrian crossing, and luckily did not hurt any person or vehicle passing by.
The incident cause heavy traffic jams in the city, especially on Bialik, HaHalutz, Hassan Shukri, and Arlozorov streets, and on the way down to the lower city. A big crowd gathered where the wounded horse was lying. Some of the people present dared to approach the horse and started taking care of it, giving it water to quench its thirst and help it gain strength.

Who is behind the abuse of the horse? Inspectors from the Haifa Municipality were called, as well as two policemen from the Haifa police station who happened to pass by the area. The passersby informed the municipal veterinarian of the Haifa Municipality of the horse's condition.
Some eyewitnesses told the inspectors and the policemen that they had seen two boys riding the horse, and claimed that they had abused the animal, left it wounded at the heart of Hadar neighborhood, and ran away. The police said they would make an effort to find out whether the horse was indeed abused and who was responsible for it.
